If this was the first time I could go with ‘life-changing’ and have it mean so many things but I guess ‘comforting’ is a good one. With all that happens at every wedding, it was comforting to see the people that are still there “Through the Years”.
Oh geez, depends on with whom the moment occurred—throwing undergarments at the photographer, whom I have know for many years but lost contact, that later throws us onto the train tracks, dancing with Nick Youngers while he brings to my attention that we have been friends for nearly 20 years, sitting out back with Leda Corea while she helps me through the most difficult of moments, Hunter passing out in my arms. A moment in time is supported by others around it. Just like family and friends, we must cherish and appreciate all to truly enjoy any one.
My Grandma Dockstader standing in the doorway, while I was getting dressed, watching over us in a manner that almost blends into the background. At that moment, she was not only my Grandmother but also my Father that could not be there.
It took me FOREVER to find the ‘perfect’ dress. But, I knew that I would eventually find it because I gave myself plenty of time, just like the planning on a budget. With having over a year to plan it made it easier to bring down the cost and find the right people that would accent the wedding instead of taking away from it (i.e. Cathy Flynn, Ryan Ahlers, Deanna & Billy Wallace). There are always things that, afterwards, people think that they should have done differently but if it feels right when you make the decision then go with that instead of constantly thinking about the change.
