It was last Sunday afternoon when the sun was shining and the ground was covered with way too much snow that I had the pleasure of meeting baby Trey. Photographing at client’s homes is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you’re going to get, but when I walked in Karen and Harry’s kitchen which was flooded with fabulous light pouring in from their giant windows, I knew it was going to be perfect.
Baby Trey was all smiles when I walked in...that’s until he saw that big scary black box I was holding up to my face. As you can see, he didn’t exactly trust the crazy lady with the camera…
But you get Mom involved in the shenanigans...then the situation doesn’t seem so bad.
It took Trey about 10 minutes to start working the camera, in fact he wouldn’t stop staring into the lens even when I put it down!
I think I called him a Diva for this picture, but Dad wasn’t into that nickname...haha...so what’s the word for a man Diva? Ok, we’ll just call him Sassy.
Really, I could just photograph baby feet all day.
I just love the Mickey theme! So cute for a little boy…
I need to start yoga again....
It’s not easy to take photos when a baby is laughing because you just want to put down the camera and laugh with them. He’s so cute!
Oh my gosh his little baby kicks are so adorable.
Something tells me he’s going to play football...but seriously, Trey sounds like a famous quarterback doesn’t it? I need his autograph when he can scribble…
Just so Mommy didn’t feel left out with all the boy love…
This is after we gave him a short nap then woke him up for more snapshots. I’m not even this cheerful after a full nights rest!
My favorite photo of the day.
Thank you to Karen and Harry for their wonderful stories of Hawaii on a cold winter day and for having such a handsome son to photograph!

Bill: (03.07.10 - 4:02 pm) I think you might have something here on the next football player, he's got the hands for it! Pictures look great hun.
I had the joy of spending my Sunday afternoon photographing this little cutie. As you can see, he really knew how to work the camera with those gorgeous eyes. More to come!
Mariah: (03.04.10 - 9:26 am) Love it! He is so awesome! Great work as ussual! =)
Deanna: (03.04.10 - 2:29 pm) Thank you! I was craving your spaghetti today...fell free to drop a lump in the mail anytime! Hehe.
I adore custom photo albums. Reviewing images after a photo shoot used to be my favorite activity, but that was before I received my first designed album. They are just so stunning in person! Mariah and Jason wanted to include their children in their engagement session so their book was filled with fun romping in the leaves but also a romantic walk around the village.
Whether an engagement album or a wedding guestbook, I design with simple lines and colors to enhance the photos and leave plenty of space for signatures if needed. Being the dimensions of the book are 8.5"x11", the pages contain big beautiful photos sometimes measuring 22” wide on full page spreads!
Engagement albums contain an average of 60 photos across 20 spreads with the option to select your favorite images. Look for an upcoming post showing photos of the finished product!
Kate: (02.25.10 - 1:13 am) Looks great! I really like pg. 5 -- an American Dream -- a House with a yard, American flag out front, and a family.
Deanna: (02.25.10 - 4:45 pm) That's so funny because I was thinking the same thing when I posted this. Could be the cover of a magazine!
This started as an engagement session but we all know when kids are involved, they take center stage. We had a blast jumping around in piles of fresh, crisp leaves but holy cow, where do kids get so much energy? I hope bearing a child also comes with a burst of energy or I’m in trouble! Look for part two coming very soon since these lovebirds are tying the knot in a few short weeks on New Year’s Eve! Party and play? I can’t wait!
