Passion, Love & Happiness. I'm on a journey to capture these emotions from people who radiate their inner beauty and joy into my lens. I photograph because I adore weddings, a spontaneous lifestyle and meeting amazing individuals who will change my life. I hope that next unique someone is you.

I find it humorous to view my blog and see that my last post was in November. Looks like I’ve been sitting on my bum twiddling my thumbs! But the silence is actually a sign of a fabulous holiday and an exciting new year. I have so many backed up blog posts and images to share, but I’m not going to apologize and make excuses. In fact, this was exactly what I had envisioned and hoped for, for a silent blog means exciting things are brewing….
Oh the thoughts I want to share right now, but who wants to spoil all the upcoming fun? So I’ll start the year with the beautiful holiday card I created for Carmen. I adore receiving mail around the holidays and seeing the growth of children and families over the past year. It seems our family introduces a new pooch into our crazy mix of canines quite often so Carmen needed to brag about her little “Piper” as this year’s addition. Of course I had a wonderful time photographing the card on my husband’s new antique roll-top desk. This makes desk number #4 in our house, so of course it was a necessity…..but I was delighted to open the drawer and find he had hidden vintage photos of his Dad to keep close. His habit of holding on to the past often drives me nuts (who needs to save movie stubs?) but sometimes it brings a smile to my face.
It’s the first post of 2011 so I wish you an unbelievably amazing fantastic exciting wonderful fabulous happy ridiculously deelicious new year!
Carmen: (01.11.11 - 1:21 pm) This is just lovely!! I'm glad I came up with the idea...Nice picture!
When my sister-in-law, Carmen, and her boyfriend, Weston, asked if I would take their Christmas card photo, I had the perfect spot in mind. A gorgeous red bush had been displaying brilliant reds and golds next to my home for weeks and I was itching to have a reason to photograph it. Bring in two crazy pooches, shooting 10 minutes before the sunlight disappeared and a location located at an intersection of a busy road and I had the recipe for one exciting session!
Though Lilly (big dog) and Piper (little dog) were very well mannered, they weren’t too interested in looking at me or my camera when they had cars providing a much bigger distraction. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever hooted, hollered, kicked my legs or pretty much looked like a bigger fool than with these two pups, but I still wasn’t as fascinating as a speeding automobile! But with any pet session, patience is your only trick and we ended up with some lovable and lovely photos.
And of course we couldn’t end the session without a romantic scene. Enjoy the puppy love!
My front yard is a ridiculous hodge podge of flowering bushes and trees which means it’s stunning in the spring. My Aunt was dying to get Chloe and Echo over for a visit to romp around in the flowering lawn and as predicted, once the leashes were off they were running wild! These pampered (aka spoiled) pouches have their coats groomed by my Aunt Deb every week so they’re like center folds for collie lovers. It was great fun to watch them run like pups, but even more enjoyable to watch my Aunt try to corral them for the perfect pose. But patience was definitely worth the struggle because their glamor shots turned out pawsitively perfect!
Liesl Diesel: (08.31.10 - 9:23 pm) Wow, D, these are such gorgeous photos! What beautiful collies! Tia is in love :)
Deanna: (09.02.10 - 4:06 pm) Thanks Liesl! Aren't their coats amazing? Maybe Tango needs a playmate!

I adore custom photo albums. Reviewing images after a photo shoot used to be my favorite activity, but that was before I received my first designed album. They are just so stunning in person! Mariah and Jason wanted to include their children in their engagement session so their book was filled with fun romping in the leaves but also a romantic walk around the village.
Whether an engagement album or a wedding guestbook, I design with simple lines and colors to enhance the photos and leave plenty of space for signatures if needed. Being the dimensions of the book are 8.5"x11”, the pages contain big beautiful photos sometimes measuring 22” wide on full page spreads!
Engagement albums contain an average of 60 photos across 20 spreads with the option to select your favorite images. Look for an upcoming post showing photos of the finished product!
Kate: (02.25.10 - 2:13 am) Looks great! I really like pg. 5 -- an American Dream -- a House with a yard, American flag out front, and a family.
Deanna: (02.25.10 - 5:45 pm) That's so funny because I was thinking the same thing when I posted this. Could be the cover of a magazine!
