Passion, Love & Happiness. I'm on a journey to capture these emotions from people who radiate their inner beauty and joy into my lens. I photograph because I adore weddings, a spontaneous lifestyle and meeting amazing individuals who will change my life. I hope that next unique someone is you.

I have a confession…for the past year I’ve worked in my office very little. Anyone who is close to me knows that I’m ridiculously in love with my house and even though my office is 5 minutes from my home, I was only dropping in once a week. That was until a few weeks ago….
Though I adored my crazy paint job, my office walls were bare of any photographs and I found it uninspiring for both myself and my clients. So last month I went wild ordering display products including canvases, standouts, floats, a big screen tv, a new coffee table and of course a mini beverage bar. I removed some furniture to open up some space and voila! I’m now SO IN LOVE with my office! In fact, I’ve been enjoying every week day now in my new space. I’ll be the first to admit that my banana green walls aren’t the best backdrop for my images, but in the dreary winter, my office is my sunshine and I just couldn’t let go of the bright colors! What once was a semi-boring meeting space is now a vibrant and exciting entrance and I’ve yet to have a visitor come in and not comment on my subject’s fabulous photos!
Adorning my sitting space are the new Fine Art Floats. A unique option to display images, Fine Art Floats are similar to Canvases or Standout Mounts in that they add dimension by extending out from the wall. Fine Art Floats are unique in that they appear to be floating on the wall with the main focus on the image! Create a modern display with a Float wall collage that is ready to hang once removed from the box.
These pieces are created by wrapping the photographic print or canvas print around masonite to create a thin wrap. The print or canvas is protected with a laminate and padding is added between the print and the masonite to give the front of the Float a raised, elegant look and feel. The back of the Float is complete with black paper backing and a black ¾” thick gatorboard block that allows the Float to extend out from the wall. The back of the block also contains drilled holes for hanging.
What makes a great photographer? I’m still learning…but something I’ve found to be key is to work quickly and produce results. I photographed at the Charcoal Corral today and when finished, was pulled aside and asked to take a quick portrait of this beautiful family. A few years ago, this would have caused me major panic. The Corral is a busy place with lots of people, signs, tables and distractions. I had less than a minute to find a location, pose my subjects and provide images that would look like they were carefully planned.
I’m thrilled with the results, but I have to give credit to my captivating subjects. Will I ever work with models who arent’ visually deelicious? Haven’t yet!
I’m currently in Wisconsin right now attending my first ever photography training camp! And when I say camp, I mean sleeping on the top bunk, sorting my silverware in the cafeteria and being forced to rise at 7am for classes. This week long event started on Monday and our teacher, Neil van Niekerk, is having a fun time corralling all 20 of us in a group and answering our bazillion questions.
Here’s us acting like paparazzi around an adorable family.
That crazy chick in the front is my roommate, Tricia Muehlbauer of Personality Portraits , who is proud that she’s sleeping in the big bed beneath my rump and gets me in trouble in class by whispering jokes in my ear.
Of course the goal of this exercise was to overpower the strong sun with off-camera flash, but the kids weren’t too excited to be photographed by a mob of photographers so they resorted to running through the beautiful trees which surrounds the facility.
I was in my glory swapping lenses with new friends and was able to grab this precious shot of Hannah snuggling with her dad.
They were extremely patient with us all and this was just one session of the day! I’ll be posting the other two sessions when I get a free moment, but it’s like boot camp (with lots of adult beverages) and so I should try to head to bed to catch a wink before we do it all over again. I’m having a blast!

It was last Sunday afternoon when the sun was shining and the ground was covered with way too much snow that I had the pleasure of meeting baby Trey. Photographing at client’s homes is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re going to get, but when I walked in Karen and Harry’s kitchen which was flooded with fabulous light pouring in from their giant windows, I knew it was going to be perfect.
Baby Trey was all smiles when I walked in…that’s until he saw that big scary black box I was holding up to my face. As you can see, he didn’t exactly trust the crazy lady with the camera…
But you get Mom involved in the shenanigans…then the situation doesn’t seem so bad.
It took Trey about 10 minutes to start working the camera, in fact he wouldn’t stop staring into the lens even when I put it down!
I think I called him a Diva for this picture, but Dad wasn’t into that nickname…haha…so what’s the word for a man Diva? Ok, we’ll just call him Sassy.
Really, I could just photograph baby feet all day.
I just love the Mickey theme! So cute for a little boy…
I need to start yoga again….
It’s not easy to take photos when a baby is laughing because you just want to put down the camera and laugh with them. He’s so cute!
Oh my gosh his little baby kicks are so adorable.
Something tells me he’s going to play football…but seriously, Trey sounds like a famous quarterback doesn’t it? I need his autograph when he can scribble…
Just so Mommy didn’t feel left out with all the boy love…
This is after we gave him a short nap then woke him up for more snapshots. I’m not even this cheerful after a full nights rest!
My favorite photo of the day.
Thank you to Karen and Harry for their wonderful stories of Hawaii on a cold winter day and for having such a handsome son to photograph!
