Fine Art Floats are Fantastic!

September 24, 2010

I have a confession…for the past year I’ve worked in my office very little. Anyone who is close to me knows that I’m ridiculously in love with my house and even though my office is 5 minutes from my home, I was only dropping in once a week. That was until a few weeks ago….

Though I adored my crazy paint job, my office walls were bare of any photographs and I found it uninspiring for both myself and my clients. So last month I went wild ordering display products including canvases, standouts, floats, a big screen tv, a new coffee table and of course a mini beverage bar. I removed some furniture to open up some space and voila! I’m now SO IN LOVE with my office! In fact, I’ve been enjoying every week day now in my new space. I’ll be the first to admit that my banana green walls aren’t the best backdrop for my images, but in the dreary winter, my office is my sunshine and I just couldn’t let go of the bright colors! What once was a semi-boring meeting space is now a vibrant and exciting entrance and I’ve yet to have a visitor come in and not comment on my subject’s fabulous photos!

Adorning my sitting space are the new Fine Art Floats. A unique option to display images, Fine Art Floats are similar to Canvases or Standout Mounts in that they add dimension by extending out from the wall. Fine Art Floats are unique in that they appear to be floating on the wall with the main focus on the image! Create a modern display with a Float wall collage that is ready to hang once removed from the box.

These pieces are created by wrapping the photographic print or canvas print around masonite to create a thin wrap. The print or canvas is protected with a laminate and padding is added between the print and the masonite to give the front of the Float a raised, elegant look and feel. The back of the Float is complete with black paper backing and a black ¾” thick gatorboard block that allows the Float to extend out from the wall. The back of the block also contains drilled holes for hanging.

Rachele’s After Glow

September 22, 2010

Describe your wedding day in one word.

Surreal.  It was such an awesome day; it was really hard to believe it was actually happening.

What was your favorite moment of the day?

I might have to select two moments!!  The first was the minute or so I had in the back of the church alone with my dad right before we walked down the aisle.  It was a special time where he shared a positive outlook on life with me… the few words exchanged caught me off guard and made me tear up, but I had to quickly pull it back together since we had a little walk to take!  My second favorite moment was pretty much the whole reception!  It was so nice to finally unwind and let loose with Kyle after the few semi-stressful days building up to the wedding.  Looking back we still can’t believe how much fun we had.  We knew it was going to be a good time, we just weren’t expecting it to be about the most fun we’ve ever had together!

Favorite wedding photo?

Again, I need to pick two!  The first is of my dad and I walking down the aisle.  My dad is looking right at your camera and you can tell he is so happy and so proud.  I’m trying to hold it together because i’m so overjoyed and happy!  I thought the image captured such perfect emotion for both of us.

My second favorite is the image you captured of Kyle as he saw me for the first time.  I just love looking and that picture and knowing that it was me that was making him that happy!

Any advice for future brides?

My advice to future brides would be to relax about their wedding day.  A few days before my wedding, I had called one of the church musicians to verify the music for the ceremony.  She asked me how I was feeling and I admitted that I was slightly nervous… not because of getting married, but because up until then, all the planning had been in my hands, but on the day of the wedding I’d be depending on all these people to show up, on time, and make my day as beautiful as I had imagined.  And for the most part, the people you hire are perfect strangers that you’ve maybe only met with or talked to a few times before.  To me, it was really scary putting all my faith in them to get the job done.  Anyway, this musician assured me everything would be fine!  She said to me that all the individuals you have hired are professionals, you have paid them top dollar to do their job and its what they do best!  She told me weddings always come together, and she was right!  If you let the people you hire do their job, there is nothing to worry about!!  Your wedding day will probably be the biggest and most expensive party you will ever throw so just enjoy your day!  It will turn out perfect!

Also, if a future bride is reading this, it means she’s found Deanna and Visually Deelicious…. You’re all ready a step in the right direction!  Choosing to use Deanna for our wedding photography was the best decision we made!  She was helpful, full of great suggestions and incredibly talented.  You can’t go wrong if you chose to hire Deanna for your big day!  Your photography will be one thing you will, by far, not have to worry about!!

Pete and Jannette’s Wedding Teaser at Conesus Lake | Geneseo, NY

September 20, 2010

It was cold and rainy all week, but there’s no such thing as bad weather on my wedding days! So Pete and Jannette enjoyed an amazing event filled with sunshine, happy people and love on Conesus Lake in Geneseo, NY. I envisioned this image in my head, knowing that wedding day time lines don’t allow me to perfect my visions, but when I pulled this up on my screen, it was simply more beautiful than I imagined. Jannette was this stunning all day and Pete glowed every time he looked at her.

I thought this would be the perfect image to send them off on their 3-week Mediterranean Honeymoon Cruise. Enjoy your incredible adventure!

I’m having a chocolate craving

September 16, 2010

I used to think I wasn’t a chocoholic, but when our candy dish is empty, I can’t get that dark yumminess out of my mind. A few weeks ago, I spent the day photographing chocolates at Wahl’s Candies in Buffalo, NY and came to the following conclusion: the absolute best wedding favors are edible. I’ve seen some wonderfully creative gifts, but at the end of the day, something people can pop in their mouth always brings a smile to their faces, especially to mine. So if you’re in the wedding planning mode I’ll help you out….keep it simple, make it chocolate. Because, is there really anything better than something that melts in your mouth?

These shoes were made for photographing, and that’s just what I’ll do

September 13, 2010

Last week I enjoyed a super secret and fun bridal session with Miss J. Of importance was her shoes and since I’ve been having a streak of fabulous shoes on the blog, I thought I would continue the trend with Miss J’s lovely gold heels. I LOVE gold!!! Of course being a woman, she brought plenty to choose from, but the sparkle on these puppies really accented her fantastic legs and ankles. So sexy Miss J!
